Robyn

Founder of Treasures for Thematic Teaching.

Hi, I’m Robyn, and I live in a magnificent country—South Africa. I’m a qualified teacher with an Honours degree in Inclusive Education, and I have over 20 years of experience in education, teaching a variety of grades from preschool through the intermediate phase.

Although I’m currently not working in a school to allow flexibility for my family, being at home hasn’t stopped me from staying involved in the education world.

While raising my two precious sons, I’ve had the opportunity to take part in a variety of educational projects, including:

Planning and facilitating moms and babies/toddler groups
Writing textbooks and teachers’ guides
Creating resources and programmes for a non-profit organisation (NPO)
Mentoring young student teachers employed by the NPO
Working as a reader and scribe for learners with concessions
Assisting with marketing and social media for a family business

These experiences inspired me and gave me the confidence to start my own business.

My goal is simple: to create high-quality, user-friendly resources that save educators time, engage students, and make learning exciting and fun.

South African Resources

While working with the NPO, we discovered a desperate need for engaging, fun resources for young children in their home language, IsiZulu. This is where my journey into creating IsiZulu resources began. Some days, I found myself surrounded by four different IsiZulu-English dictionaries and Google Translate, trying to find just the right words—and sometimes still not getting it exactly right!

Creating these resources has been a time-consuming but incredibly rewarding journey, especially when I receive photos or videos of children actively engaged and learning.

I’ve also developed study materials for my own children. While many of my resources align with the South African CAPS curriculum, they cover topics that are relevant globally, making them useful for teachers and parents anywhere.

My kids loved using these playdough mats. I printed, laminated, then worked through them together. Was a lot of fun! Great compliment to an ocean unit.

These are great! I have added them to our farm unit. It is just the extra information needed to complete our study!

I love this resource! Just like many of the other content, it is colorful and to the point. The pack has a lot of variety included which makes the task of lesson preparation so much easier.
